April 15th, it forced the last canals held by the Germans and captured Winschoten. On its right side, the 10th armoured cavalry brigade progressed northeastern. It penetrated in Germany then advanced along Ems river to the Küsten canal. Three attempts were launched before this obstacle being forced April 19th; the cavalry brigade advanceed then on Papenburg.
