At this time the Brigade been ordered to move round north of Amiens to secure an area north of the Somme in which 7th Armoured Division could concentrate during the night. Accordingly in the failing light 44th RTR, followed by TAC Brigade HQ, crossed the river at the western outskirts of Amiens and continued in the moonlight to the high ground north of Canaples, twelve miles to the north.
