The 142 Sqdn left from Gransden Lodge at 1945-01-19 at 23:23. Loc or duty Sterkrade
On Friday 19 January 1945, a member of the 142 Sqdn, Flight Lieutenant F C Young, took off from Gransden Lodge in the United Kingdom. His mission is mentioned elsewhere on WW2 History Europe. Campaign report of the USAAF:


STRATEGIC OPERATIONS

(Eighth Air Force):: Mission 800: 2 B-17s and 9 B-24s drop leaflets in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany during the night.

TACTICAL OPERATIONS

(Ninth Air Force): Bad weather cancels bomber operations; fighters fly patrols and armed reconnaissance; the XIX Tactical Air Command also supports elements of the US III and VIII Corps NE of Houffalize, Belgium and around Clervaux, Luxembourg, and the 5th Infantry Division around Bettendorf, Germany.

18/19 January 1945

56 Mosquitos to Sterkrade oil refinery, 12 each, on H2S trials, to Düsseldorf, Kassel and Koblenz and 7 to Ruthen oil depot. 1 Mosquito from the Sterkrade raid crashed in Belgium.
