On 1940-09-24, Pilot W J Glowacki (Pilot Officer, PAF) with servicenumber P.76739 flew a Hurricane I with serial P3832 for this duty: Scramble. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss: Shot down by Me 109's whilst chasing Do17 towards, France at 16:30 hrs. Injured and made forced landing. Died after allergic reaction to anti-tetanus injection. Buried by pilots of LG2. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 605. The location for the map is the English Channel. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Glowacki: he died as prisoner of war (PoW). He is commemorated at: Guines Communal Cemetery - Pas De Calais, France.
