On 1944-08-03, Pilot D K Moores (Flying Officer, RCAF) service number J/17649 flew Typhoon Ib serial MN321 (squadron code F3-G) for this duty: bombing mission. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss: hit by flak, exploded in mid-air. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 438. The location was over Ondefontaine (10 km South West of Villers Bocage) France. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Moores: he was killed. He is commemorated at: Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery, France.
