He flew with a Handley Page Halifax (type III, with serial NA241 and code DT-O). His mission and of the other crew members was planned for Saturday, 24 February 1945.

John Rees (credits photos): The crash site near Stuttgart has been identified at 1 kilometre east of Mauren - see attached documents. Also, there was an eighth crew member, Pilot Officer Reginald Powell the Special Operator, who baled out to become a POW and the sole survivor.
