32 Lancasters of 3 Group carried out a G-H raid on the railway yards in this town behind the front on which the Germans were attacking in the Ardennes. No Lancasters lost.
A short local report states that many of the bombs fell in the town. Casualties were 60 dead, 300 injured and 20 missing. 30 of the dead were nurses who were in the 'vaulted winecellar' of the Town Hospital when it was penetrated by a bomb.
