CLOUD-COVER RAIDS
4 Wellingtons to Germany. 3 turned back early but 1 aircraft, although dispatched to Emden, turned south when its cloud cover ran out and dropped its bombs in the Essen area.
21 Hampdens attempted to use cloud cover to lay mines in the Frisians but only 2 aircraft did so successfully. There were no losses.
