11 Blenheims to a power-station, near Rouen, which was bombed and 5 Hampdens to Abbeville but their operation was unsuccessful and no bombs were dropped. There were no losses on these raids. 9 Further Blenheims carried out shipping patrols. 3 aircraft of 88 Squadron, taking their turn in the Channel Stop operation, made a successful attack on a large and strongly escorted tanker off Blankenberg. Their bombs blew off the stern of the ship, which is believed to have sunk, but 2 of the 3 Blenheims were shot down soon afterwards by German fighters.
