After a night's rest, Bomber Command dispatched 194 aircraft, its greatest number of the war to date. Approximately two thirds of the effort was devoted to bombing barges in the Channel ports; minor raids were made on many targets in Germany. 187 aircraft, 96 percent of those dispatched, reported carrying out their tasks. 2 Hampdens were lost, 1 attacking the Channel ports and 1 on a minelaying sortie.
