On the 18 Januar the main party started moving, consisting of 3 Troops moving by MT to MIDDLEBURG to be followed by the remainder of the Commando on the Friday and on this day, about five hundred men were spread over an area of some 70 square miles in order to defend it from the attack of the enemy. Their dispositions being as follows:-
‘A’ and 'B’ troops at VEERE.
HQ, HW, 'X' and 'Q' troops at MIDDLEBURG.
'Y' troop at ZOUTELANDE.
5 (Norge) troops at FLUSHING.
