Royal Scots Greys (2 Dragoons) in support of 185 Infantry Brigade
On 8th August 1944, The Scots Greys were placed in support of 185th Infantry Brigade, while 3rd/4th CLY supported 8th Infantry Brigade and 44th RTR were with 9th Infantry Brigade in their attack over the River Alliere and on to the high ridge beyond, with the aim of outflanking Vire from the east.
