On Tuesday 22 February 1944, a member of the 431 Sqdn, Flight Sergeant Anthony Wright Tinmouth service number R/135221, took off from Croft in the United Kingdom in Handley Page Halifax type V, serial LL626 (coded SE-). His mission was a training flight. The plane left at 15:15 but began to ice up.  Pilot attempted to reach Hawarden but was forced to land near Pentre, Flintshire.  No injuries to crew were reported.  

Anthony Wright Tinmouth was commissioned to Pilot Officer on 27 February 1944. 

He was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Medal as a Flight Sergeant (431 Sqd RCAF) - 29 Feb 1944.

He was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross as a Fliying Officer (415 Sqd RCAF) - 6 Jan 1945.
