99 aircraft - 40 Hampdens, 34 Wellingtons, 23 Whitleys, 2 Manchesters; none lost. Kiel reports this as its heaviest raid so far, with special mention of increased incendiary attack. Damage was caused in the Deutsche Werke U-boat yard and in many city-centre-type buildings - large shops, banks, hospitals. 5 people were killed and 10 injured.
