This was the successful attack on the aircraft factory which was described in the introduction to this period of the diary. A report from Toulouse confirms that the factory was severely damaged. Most of the people living nearby had time to take shelter or run into fields but 22 people were killed and 45 were injured when about 100 houses near the factory were hit.
Minor Operations: 24 Stirlings minelaying off Biscay ports, 37 aircraft on Resistance operations. No losses.

HAMBURG
35 Mosquitoes; 1 aircraft lost. Hamburg reports 39 people dead and 161 injured (Hamburg's first air-raid casualties since October 1943), 7 fires and 322 people bombed out.
Minor Operations: 14 Mosquitoes bombed 7 targets in the Ruhr and the Rhineland, and 3 aircraft flew R.C.M. sorties. No losses.
